It's because the CME value equals NOLA barge #2YC less freight to Chicago. The CME price does not reflect domestic demand but export demand. As we keep using more grain domestically, this undervalues the crop.
(Note we didn't make this mistake on pricing CME soybean meal and CME soybean oil 😉 Well played ABCD's.)
I’m attending a professional conference & met up with a former #2YC transfer student. We walked & talked for an hour. It was wonderful to catch up on both personal & professional lives & to know I was a valued part of her journey.

@BeetfarmerDave @jzantinge2 @DonMcGugan Again, that’s a huge barrier to entry. Debt is money, money that you owe. Risk is real. And you have to eat in the meantime. I’m not saying it’s impossible. But it is very very different difficult especially if you plan on raising true commodities like #2yc.

I’ve been teaching at a #2YC for 30 years & had no idea until 6 years ago that many of my students misunderstood the term “office hours”. I changed it to “Visiting Hours” & it feels so much more welcoming. Awareness matters for change to occur
