Wow this is such a good idea! πΈ
I'm not lucky enough to have many historic family photos, but I'm going to get together images for each of the prompts from documents, newspaper articles etc. to hopefully start next month ππ°π

#30DaysofGenealogy Uncovered with DNA: I'm waiting on results... hoping it will help to solve a mystery for a cousin!
#30DaysofGenealogy Most surprising discovery: My maiden name appears 4 generations back on my mothers maternal line too! It seems families with the same surname were living a few villages apart. So I'm guessing there will be a connection there a few more generations back!
#30DaysofGenealogy Current research goal: I'm working on my friend's family tree, which is very different to my own. Great experience & delving into a Scottish line has been interesting!
#30DaysofGenealogy Shout out to my fav #Genealogy accounts @heirlineltd @NathanDGoodwin @chiddickstree @gene_alogy @GenealogyJude @DanielGenealogy @ScientistSoph @aew34829697 @geneastories @GenealogyLass & so many more! I'm so glad I found this corner of Twitter! #familyhistory
#30DaysofGenealogy An interesting occupation: My dad is a fifth generation plasterer. He restores buildings that are 100s of years old with skills and knowledge passed down for generations
#30DaysofGenealogy A family secret: I'm still searching for the fathers of a few people in my tree. A distant cousin was discovered after his passing - his father divorced his mother due to the cousin's health issues. The Victorian views held at the time both sad & shocking.
#30DaysofGenealogy My favourite stories will always be ones told by a much loved relative. The past came alive with tales of her father's wartime escapades & colourful recollections of village life growing up. I'd love to sit at her feet & listen to those stories one more time π
#30daysofGenealogy I am yet to find an "interesting" cause of death in my tree... I'm feeling relieved for my poor ancestors but also off to investigate more siblings of my direct lines in case they give me a better answer to this question! Genealogy is morbid sometimes!
#30DaysofGenealogy Best piece of research advice: triple check everything! Also look for family names in the houses alongside census records you're searching - I've found a few gems this way! Putting things in context and using common sense goes a long way too #familyhistory
#30DaysofGenealogy Not technically a soldier but a sailor, my maternal great grandfather went down on HMS Hogue, one of the first WW1 ships to be sunk. Leaving behind my 2yr old grandmother and his wife, 6months pregnant. Such a tragedy. I'm planning to visit the memorial in Kent
#AncestryHour I've been having fun with the #30DaysofGenealogy questions. It's made me think about my tree in a different way and I'm enjoying going back through the ancestors I've discovered so far π
#30daysofgenealogy A grave you've visited: The majority of my mum's family from the last 2 generations are buried in the same church yard, which I visit regularly. I've just started the search for more graves on both maternal & paternal lines #Findagrave
#30daysofgenealogy My aunt, 16 years old, was feeling unwell & late for her train. She didn't get on her usual carriage & tragically lost her life in the Great Harrow & Wealdstone train disaster. Her grandfather was at the front of the train in their usual seats & he lived.
#30DaysOfGenealogy: You've unlocked the secret bonus day on #1950Census eve!
Excited to find 7β£ great grandparents and 3β£ great great grandparents on the newly available census! #Coming2My1950Census #FamilyHistory
