MISHECK MUGADZA DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE 31 JULY 2026 DEMONSTRATIONS: LET US CHOOSE PEACE, UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT IN MANICALAND Today, I wish to address an important matter concerning our province. There have been reports and public discussions about demonstrations that are said to be planned for 31 July 2026. As your Minister of State, my foremost concern is the safety, security, and well-being of every resident of this province. I therefore appeal to all citizens to remain peaceful, calm, and responsible. Before making any decision to participate in public activities, I encourage everyone to carefully consider their personal safety, the well-being of their families, and the potential impact on their communities. Peace and stability are essential for our schools, hospitals, businesses, places of worship, and all the services on which we depend. Our province has earned a reputation for hard work, unity, and resilience. Let us continue to protect these values. We should reject violence, destruction of property, intimidation, and any conduct that places lives at risk. Differences of opinion should always be expressed in ways that respect the law and the rights of others. I also urge members of the public not to depend on social media information which can spread rumours and misinformation very quickly, creating unnecessary fear and confusion. Let us rely on credible and official sources of information and avoid circulating unverified rumours. To our youth: you are the future of our province and our nation. Your energy, creativity, and determination are needed in building stronger communities, advancing education, growing businesses, and creating opportunities for future generations. I encourage you to make choices that contribute positively to your future and to the development of our province. To parents, traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, and civil society, I call upon you to continue guiding our young people with wisdom and encouraging dialogue, respect, and peaceful coexistence. My office, together with other government institutions, remains committed to serving every citizen fairly and diligently. We will continue working to improve service delivery, promote economic development, and address the challenges facing our communities through constructive engagement and cooperation. Our security forces across the seven districts of the province are fully prepared and remain on high alert to act decisively in order to curb and suppress all forms of violence and lawlessness. We commend their commitment to maintaining peace and protecting our citizens. As we approach 31 July, I appeal to every resident of Manicaland Province to remain peaceful, continue with your lawful daily activities, and support efforts that preserve harmony within our communities. Together, we can ensure that our province remains a place where families thrive, businesses grow, and every citizen has the opportunity to prosper. Let us continue to work together in unity, mutual respect, and peace for the benefit of present and future generations. I thank you all.
