I’m excited to co-author #AB1850 to make the Banana Slug California’s state slug! Sammy the Slug is here to cheer on the incredible creatures who help stabilize the ecosystems they inhabit, contributing to our state’s rich biodiversity. 🍌🐌
#AB1850, the bill to set rent limits on market-rate buildings converted to affordable housing, passed Assembly with amendments, now in Senate. Most recent hearing was postponed. https://t.co/TqJixVwop4 https://t.co/tsGyRowEpT
#AB1850 is aimed at CA Community Housing Agency, an entity chartered by a small county that buys new bldgs statewide & turns them into mod-income housing. Concerns are high fees that the bankers get upfront, as well as cost to cities of lost property tax $ https://t.co/QCzIkVFxst
Good news! My bill #AB1850 to set minimum standards of ownership when public entities acquire middle-income housing just passed out of the Assembly Housing Committee. The bill will ensure that future transactions are equitable for all local jurisdictions and tenants. #FairHousing

@AsmJesseGabriel @CASenCaballero There's also #AB1850, a bill from @ChrisWardCA to make sure that a new way of converting private bldgs to affordable housing actually delivers significant rent savings. https://t.co/tsGyRowEpT
@margaritareyes Per the article, #AB1850 has now been incorporated into #AB2257. Inroads have been made for language services, but so many hoops must be jumped through & many highly skilled professional #interpreters & #translators would be cut off from being ICs. #AmendAB2257 #FixAB5 #TitleVI
@quietlifedesign @FredTopel @KurtelaVideo @geekgirldiva @LorenaSGonzalez @cafwu @KonstantineinCA @Fight4Freelance Another thing @AssemblyDems:the urgency bills #AB1850/#AB2257 are NOT true fixes to #AB5. They still pick winners and losers, do NOT address B2B, the 1930s era ABC test is still in, prongs 5 & 12 of the B2B "exemption" still unworkable 4 most. Do not fool yourselves. #RepealAB5
@N65Michelle @davincidiva @LorenaSGonzalez @cafwu @KonstantineinCA @geekgirldiva @quietlifedesign @Fight4Freelance If we have religions trying to get a "Rabbi carveout' then #AB5 and #AB1850 have truly entered "theatre of the absurd" territory. How many Rabbis are there in San Diego are there anyway? We should just ask them, though I doubt disproving this lie would do much good.
@wuzhappn1 @gloriariverab @BillyHam2020 @Emma24521532 @asthegirlturns @co_ptic @LorenaSGonzalez @LorenaAD80 I read #AB1850 twice and couldn't believe what garbage it was - absolute slop public and economic policy. A whole pile of new "exceptions" piled on to that word salad trash #AB5. This is the kind of crap we get when politicians get paid off by special interests.
@megmccool00 @FredTopel @apexsnow @ScottC20012 @LorenaSGonzalez Still, if #AB1850/#AB2257 had a tagline, it would be: "Hey, it's better than NOTHING."
@megmccool00 @FredTopel @apexsnow @ScottC20012 @LorenaSGonzalez Well to be fair the Assembly resumed; she is making the combined #AB1850 /#AB2257 a priority, which is appreciated, the way a starving hostage appreciates bread & water. But yes, if it appears #AB5 is being worked on, maybe #YESonProp22 loses support. Won't work #TooLittleTooLate
@Gunn4DG @Ildiko_Santana @margaritareyes @LorenaAD80 Right! And I don’t think #ATA Cert is specifically mentioned in #AB1850. So it’s like 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ all over again
