Asm. @Pilar4CA introduced the ‘Healthy Homework Act,’ a bill that was inspired by her daughter, Sofia. #AB2999 doesn’t ban homework, but it does require school districts to be more intentional when developing hw guidelines. The bill is intended to improve kids’ mental health.

Why does @WeAreCTA support #ab2999? Problem: California workers currently have no right to bereavement leave when a close family member dies --> without time to grieve the loss of a loved one, employees return to work grief-stricken & unable to concentrate. We can fix this!

Current situation: Waiting to testify on behalf of @WeAreCTA in support of several bills in the Assembly Labor Committee: #ab2765 #ab2999 #ab3216. I am skeptical that this will occur before 11am when I will need to testify in support of #ab2329 and #ab2405 in Assembly Housing.
