In Shagun Colony, Jhalawar (Rajasthan), community dogs are allegedly being illegally removed through misuse of official position and by involving private individuals. There is NO Supreme Court order permitting the forcible relocation or displacement of sterilized/community dogs from their designated territory. Such acts are contrary to the provisions of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023 and directions issued by the Animal Welfare Board of India. As per law, community dogs cannot be relocated except in limited situations permitted under the rules and only through lawful procedure by competent authorities. Harassing feeders or forcibly removing animals is illegal and amounts to cruelty.
