आज जी.बी. पंत अस्पताल, श्री विजयपुरम का दौरा कर चिकित्सा सुविधाओं, व्यवस्थाओं एवं अन्य प्रबंधों की समीक्षा की। इस दौरान ओ.पी.डी. में उपस्थित मरीजों से मुलाकात कर उनके द्वारा बताई गई असुविधाओं एवं कठिनाइयों की समीक्षा की। फार्मेसी काउंटर का भी निरीक्षण किया, रोज़मर्रा में उपयोग होने वाली आवश्यक दवाओं का पर्याप्त स्टॉक रखने के निर्देश दिए, ताकि मरीजों को दवाओं के लिए बाहरी बाजार पर निर्भर न रहना पड़े। साथ ही, मरीजों को सस्ती एवं आवश्यक दवाएं उपलब्ध कराने के उद्देश्य से जन औषधि केंद्र को शीघ्र पुनः क्रियाशील करने तथा इसके नियमित और प्रभावी संचालन को सुनिश्चित करने को कहा ।

The @nidmmhaindia, in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (#ANIIMS), organised a two-day training programme on “𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” on 17–18 August 2026 at Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The programme focused on strengthening the capacities of healthcare professionals and hospital administrators in risk assessment, preparedness planning, hospital safety, emergency response and continuity of essential health services.
The inaugural session was graced by 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗽 𝗩𝘆𝗮𝘀, 𝗜𝗔𝗦, 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, who stressed the importance of disaster preparedness and mitigation in strengthening resilience and reducing disaster losses in island territories; 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗰𝘂𝗺-𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 (𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵), 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 & 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀, highlighted the Islands’ geographical isolation, exposure to multiple hazards and the need for specialised preparedness capacities; and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶, 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗜𝗠𝗦, appreciated NIDM’s collaboration and its role in strengthening disaster management capabilities across the Islands.
