His presentation particularly highlighted findings from the Civil Society Working Group Oversight Report on the 7th Plenary Session of the House of the People of Somalia’s 11th Federal Parliament, https://t.co/fe9sGon7DE… developed through the @GoleKaab Parliamentary Monitoring Initiative. The session examined parliamentary performance, ethics, accountability, transparency, attendance and the role of civil society in strengthening public oversight of Parliament.
The discussion brought together #CSOs parliamentary monitoring organizations and other stakeholders across Africa, including Members of Parliament who shared important reflections. Participants also discussed Somalia’s parliamentary performance and transparency as reflected in the African Parliamentary Index, noting areas where further progress remains necessary.
Participants particularly appreciated the @GoleKaab Parliamentary Monitoring Initiative role and its contribution to systematic parliamentary monitoring and direct observation evidence-based report that can strengthen transparency, accountability and citizen engagement in Somalia’s parliamentary processes.
