“Watching the Watchdogs” is here. Yesterday afternoon, the @GoleKaab website was officially launched a Somali civil society–led platform under @SONSA_NSA connecting citizens with the Federal Parliament of Somalia @Golaha_shac_JFS .
As highlighted in our previous post, @GoleKaab strengthens transparency, accountability, and public participation by improving access to legislative information, committees and supporting oversight of parliamentary proceedings.
This short video provides an overview of about the @GoleKaab, and its commitment to “Watching the Watchdogs” ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and democratic governance is reinforced.

Today, the #Somali civil society on parliamentary and executive offices oversight monitoring team took part in an essential workshop organized by the @MzalendoWatch in #Mogadishu. This training focused on enhancing civil society capacity in parliamentary monitoring and financial budget oversight, which is pivotal for promoting transparency and accountability.
We explored various case studies from parliamentary monitoring organizations and conducted a SWOT analysis of the Somali Federal Parliament. The discussions also highlighted the importance of an ideal parliamentary openness index.
The workshop, facilitated by experts from #MZALENDO as part of the @GoleKaab project, will continue over the coming two days and is expected to have a significant impact on empowering civil society advocacy efforts.

Other than relocation of Parliamentary Journalists to Outside Parliament, there is a resolution to BAN some journalists myself included who Covered #OccupyParliament from stepping in the new area. Seth Olale who exposed the MPs escape tunnel also banned.
