@paul_tremelling @ValkStrategy It's an interesting concept. The 1980s' BAe version did consider replacing the afterburner with ZELL-like booster rockets. That added to logistics though, which were surprisingly demanding in trucks and numbers of people. https://t.co/m1N3Es6ceK
@CalumDouglas1 There's other reports where the text contradicts graphs, and even more wildly flight test results that nobbled the #ASTOVL program due to getting some physics wrong.
But the great thing is @NASA publishes much of it openly so we can find these things. That's good science
