1. I’m in tears. #DissbilityTwitter pls help me call out @ThistleHotels & @agoda. I booked a wheelchair accessible room in March for my London trip to speak at @WomensPrize tomorrow. arrived in taxi to find there’s 8 steps to get in & there’s no wheelchair accessible room free.

I’ve just spent the last two days in the Court of Appeal, where the usher, upon the judges entering and leaving the courtroom, called out “All rise, if you are able”, or words to that effect. Is the tailpiece to that a new thing generally in courts?
Yep. I've been stranded on a train at night because pre-booked access arrangements at my (unattended) station failed. I now can't use trains alone. Yet another assault to my independence and reminder that I'm a second-class citizen...

Just wasted time going round in circles trying to contact a venue I'm visiting tonight as they have previously required you to reserve #BlueBadge spaces - but none of their off-site call handlers can do this for me...🤦♀️

Work just replaced the iffy platform lift I have to use to get in to the building. New one needs a key so I have to attract the attention of security staff and wait for them to find the key. They've actually made the building less accessible.
I dream of a day when this level of dedication to accessibility is the norm...

Always good when a venue lists all the ways it is 'inclusive' and a 'safe space' and all the forms of oppression not tolerated within it - then follows with:

As a researcher, it's really horrible to think (know) that some people would rather not have someone like me at their conference/event than go to the bother of dealing with our access needs...

And the worst part is that while society might not be able to fix my chronic pain, it COULD fix much of the inaccessibility - which means the barriers I face on a daily basis are society's CHOICE.

Another event I've been invited to without wheelchair access. Another event I can't attend letting down friends that shouldn't have to be worrying about booking an accessible venue. No venue should be given a drinks licence without access. Not one!
Imagine a future where #disabled athletes are free to (just) be athletes, and don't have to be activists just to get a place at the table...
