Alternative Breaks are week-long volunteer #trailstewardship projects in America’s parks and forests designed specifically for college student groups and young professionals.
Each year, AHS coordinates 30-40 #AlternativeBreak and #VolunteerVacations trips. 🥾⛏️
We recruit 300-400 volunteers to spend a week in national parks, state parks & public lands to build and steward trails so that all may enjoy them.

This week, Keene State students are participating in an Alternative Break service trip at the Gita Nagari Eco Farm and Sanctuary in Port Royal, PA. They're learning about environmental justice and animal welfare by caring for cows and working alongside staff. #AlternativeBreak
