BENGALURU, 09 FEB 2025: At #AeroIndiaSeminar, ahead of the conclusion session, Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State (Defence) handed over the Restricted Military Type Certificates (RMTC) for #AstraBVR missile and #HTT40 in addition to release of guidance materials for life extension of aircraft and systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Seth reminded the A&D fraternity to catch up with the changing needs of the domain.
"The future is now. It is crucial that we develop the ecosystem within the specified timeframe, ensuring it is ready for future warfare. DRDO scientists must possess a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and their relevance to the future," he said.
He said the developments must remain relevant to the near future. "In war, there are no second chances, It is essential that the design aspects are addressed right from the induction phase. We are pleased to see the reforms being implemented by CEMILAC, DRDO in this regard," he added.
The minister said that the design and development process must be carefully managed to ensure timely delivery of products.
"This will help realize the ambitious goals of significantly increasing exports, supporting India's aim to become the world’s third-largest economy, and achieving the status of a global leader. We cannot afford complacency. It is imperative that we focus on indigenous solutions to serve the Tri-Services," Sanjay Seth added.
