Exploring the #BarmenDeclaration we are reminded that Christians stand against nationalism especially Christian Nationalism. We are reminded to stand against ideological corruption, affirming Christ as the sole Lord, sole Messiah, and has dominion over all life’s domains. We reject the political idea “we have no king but Caesar.” Our king is the king of peace, our lord is the lord of love, our judge is a judge of mercy. Why do Christians denounce Nationalism? Because it is not of God, who is God of all the nations and all people. #BarmenDeclaration The message and order of the church should not be influenced by current political convictions. Politics of any kind are not of God.

e) a #BarmenDeclaration like document stating who we are in this day in this Church. And that one, that one is tricky, right? Because to craft such a thing, we would need to call things what they are as a -denomination.- 10/14

@IntellectualKs1 @Victoryvox It’s naive to take Hitler’s speeches at face value. He was basically a pagan but wanted the support of the church. All politicians want to use religion for their benefit. Many German Christians opposed Hitler. Please read about the #ConfessingChurch and the #BarmenDeclaration.
