There’s widespread denial among beekeepers of the mounting evidence that >honey bees = < wild🐝
Adding hives of honey bees does not improve biodiversity. Another study showing a link with increasing honey bee hives as a cause of wild bee declines in cities. Don’t fall for the #beewash getting a hive does not save bees.

@BeeBabette Yup I come across that #beewash all the time and when I call it out for what it is #beewash I get personal insults thrown at me by beekeepers who are selling this crap to corporates. Misleading narratives lead to innapropriate action and negative consequences for biodiversity.

@ElmTreeBees @apiculturalLdn @SpringerNature I agree wholeheartedly on this, but I know he's more against those who #beewash, claiming that honey bees need saving, so aquire funding to #SaveTheBees, when honey bees don't need to be saved! It's all the other bees, that do. Beehives cause those other bees more harm than good.

But they could be a more environmentally friendly alternative statement for companies currently being duped by #beewash vendors into thinking hosting #honeybees helps bees
