I’m not as good of a feminist as I used to be because ignorance is easier than constantly interrogating my own participation in the systems that don’t benefit me or any woman #bluepilled

While Australians point fingers at each other and squabble about tax rates, American entrepreneurs are getting on with it, building new agentic AI businesses that will drive productivity, economic and sharemarket growth, and create a new class of wealth. #nannystate #bluepilled
Australia needs to wake up @cjoye @GeoffWilsonWAM 👇
Australia is standing at one of the most important economic turning points in modern history. AI will not just change technology companies. It will change accounting, law, medicine, engineering, logistics, mining, construction, education, finance, compliance, government services, and almost every knowledge intensive industry.
But Australia is not going to win this race by building the world’s largest data centres, manufacturing advanced chips, or competing directly with the frontier LLM companies. The capital requirements are too large. The industrial base is not here. The hyperscalers, semiconductor manufacturers, and frontier model companies already have scale, talent, infrastructure, and balance sheet advantages that Australia cannot realistically match.
Where Australia can compete is in knowledge.
Large language models are exceptionally good at processing information quickly, recognising patterns, summarising complex material, automating workflows, and assisting decision making. But the models alone are not enough. The real value comes when these general models are combined with deep human expertise in specific industries.
That is where Australian entrepreneurs can win @cjoye @GeoffWilsonWAM
The application layer is where accountants, doctors, engineers, lawyers, financiers, builders, educators, risk specialists, and operators take their expertise and turn it into AI powered tools that make the wider economy more productive. These applications can allow businesses to do more, faster, cheaper, and with fewer errors. That is how AI translates from a technology story into a national productivity story.
But there is a problem.
Many of the people best placed to build these applications are not twenty two year old software founders. They are experienced professionals inside companies, partnerships, firms, and institutions. They have deep domain expertise. They understand the pain points. They know where the inefficiencies are. They know what clients actually need. But many are on good incomes, have mortgages, families, responsibilities, and careers they have spent decades building.
To turn that expertise into AI applications, some of these people need to leave secure jobs, forgo wages, take risk, redraw against homes, raise seed capital, hire developers, build products, and endure years of uncertainty.
That is not a small decision. It is a serious economic sacrifice.
And this is why the budget and tax debate matters. If the system says to these people: take the risk, risk your family home, go unpaid for years, build something valuable, create jobs, lift productivity, and then if it works we will take more of the upside because government believes it can allocate your capital better than you can, then Australia sends the wrong signal at exactly the wrong moment.
The country needs more expert entrepreneurs, not fewer.
If Australia wants to benefit from AI, it should be doing everything possible to encourage skilled professionals to leave the comfort zone and build. That means rewarding risk taking, not punishing it. It means recognising that productivity will not come from another government program or another layer of bureaucracy. It will come from people with knowledge building tools that help the rest of the economy work better.
The danger is that Australia focuses on redistributing the gains of AI before it has created them.
The real national question is not just who pays more tax. It is whether Australia creates the conditions for the next generation of AI enabled businesses to exist here at all.
Because if the experts stay inside safe jobs, if entrepreneurs are discouraged from taking risk, and if capital is punished after years of sacrifice, then Australia will not just miss the AI infrastructure race. It will also miss the application layer, which is the one layer we actually have a chance to win.

@mtgreenee I jumped off the Trump train when he started seeking an opponent to run against Thomas Massie, but what he did to turn on you, was a low that has me livid and now this. Trump has betrayed MAGA, & anyone not awake to that needs to ask themselves some hard questions. #bluepilled

@mageeclegg @BuschidoEra Sounds like my #BluePilled life, before the #redPill was ever a thing circa (2012): 2 failed attempts at the American dream: #Family, #FamilyTime, & no #BullShit. Couldn't figure out why I did everything, & still women destroyed their own family.
