As you probably remember from #BLUEPRINTbook, I discuss exactly this idea in Chapter 12. I conclude that for AI to work optimally, and lead to a utopian rather than dystopian future, it would need to work with rather than against our innate social nature. So I agree with you and disagree with Sam.
