Can researchers with addiction histories improve the science?
A #CPDD21 forum on Thursday hopes to definitively answer this with examples from the field. Looking forward to joining @kirstenelins, @devin_effinger, @MonicaFPhD, & @David_NeverDave for this insightful presentation.
The most personally relevant aspect for me. As plenty of ppl know & I've said on here, I've got OCD. Untxd OCD from childhood until 6 yrs ago, now w/ SSRIs, CBT, support. Not lived experience of addiction (obv) but it REALLY informs how I think & who I bring in. #CPDD21
And closing us out is @David_NeverDave talking about mentoring scientists w/ lived experience of addiction and also how own experience w/ major depressive disorder informs aspects of the empirical research (ie, anhedonia in OUD tx). #CPDD21
