📣April 1, 2026, 🇮🇹Paris — as part of ChangeNOW 2026, the ALLATRA Global Research Center held an interactive workshop dedicated to one of the most pressing and rapidly growing environmental challenges — micro- and nanoplastic pollution. ChangeNOW is one of the world’s leading platforms for sustainable development, bringing together thousands of representatives from science, business, and environmental initiatives to shape global solutions in ecology and technology. ✔️ The workshop focused on the nature of micro- and nanoplastics as an invisible yet widespread pollutant, their pathways of distribution, and the specifics of their impact. Participants were presented with information on the unique properties of nanoplastics, including their ability to acquire an electrostatic charge and interact with both the environment and the human body. Special attention was given to the role of micro- and nanoplastics in atmospheric and oceanic processes, their impact on cloud formation, precipitation, and ocean thermal dynamics, as well as to current limitations in risk assessment and potential solutions. ➡️Participants were also introduced to the popular science film “Nanoplastic: A Threat to Life,” created by the ALLATRA Global Research Center offering a comprehensive perspective on the issue of micro- and nanoplastics. The Center has previously co-organized a conference at the European Parliament titled “Nanoplastics: Hidden Connections and Emerging Risks,” with the support of Member of the European Parliament Ondřej Knotek. 📶 The workshop in Paris brought together around 80 participants — representatives of the scientific community, environmental initiatives, and the public.
