#TBThursday Our amazing OT Tammy attended a Bexley school event to promote #Oxleas and #OccupationalTherapy to the young people of Bexley #ChoseOT #BestPlaceToWork @OxleasCEO @Ox_OTs @oxleas
@Ruth_Hawley As someone who did a midlife re-train to OT I would agree that any extra experience is good: work, volunteering etc. I chose to take an extra year to train by doing some remote learning while working as OTA and it was invaluable.

Everyone enjoyed @OSF_Charity coming to @WNsft!!! #therapydogs #PATdogs #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #CHOSEOT #holistic #evidencebasedcare #TherapyTeamWedgwood
As part of my uni ambassador role Iβve been asked to plan a lesson for year 9/10 students to give them a taste of uni courses. Thought this would be a great way to promote OT to the younger generation...
I have a few ideas but any ideas of activities would be welcome?!

I #choseOT because it was the most effective way of making a real difference to people's lives, utilising all my skills and life experience so far.

"If life is like a song it can be like helping a person re-find their own rhythm and then helping them to tune in".
Ian's thoughts on why he #choseOT this #OTweek2020. @NottsHealthcare @AHPsNottsHC
I #choseOT after hearing about the work my aunt did (as an OT) and thinking that I would love to walk a path through life where my small contribution might make all the difference to someoneβs life ...and so far I have to say that Iβve not been disappointed #ChooseOT #OTweek2020
I #ChoseOT During 6th form, I found myself in an OT dept, hearing how they enabled patients to do what they need and want to do. Occupations as a fundamental right as they keep us well and are enablers of change. I changed my uni application. OT Inspired me then and still does.
#OTWeek2020 starts today! This week weβre inspiring people from all backgrounds to choose #occupationaltherapy as a career #ChooseOT. See how you can get involved: https://t.co/Se8zJlGls2
Why #ChoseOT? I was inspired by my Dads recovery from Guillain Barre Syndrome, involving #OccupationalTherapy and relearning everyday tasks he previously took for granted. Such a varied and rewarding career, so #ChoseOT @theRCOT
@CHSInpatientLPT @CathyBooth15 @HansaVaria @PaulaOtter1 Why? The absolute joy of working with the elderly π Promoting & enabling independence, ensuring that the care we provide makes a difference to our patients' quality of life. Occupational Therapy is all about helping others, to help themselves! #choseOT #OccupationalTherapyWeek
βMy occupational therapist gave me hope when I had none.β Through focusing on what brings a true sense of purpose and identity to the persons life, we can help them recognise that hope still prevails, even in times of difficulty π«π #ChoseOT #OTStudent #OccupationalTherapyWeek
Reason 1 for deciding to #ChoseOT: I have had the opportunity to support people to succeed in returning to meaningful activities, when they never thought they'd be able to π #OTWeek2020 #TeamGreen @theRCOT
First up from us this #OTweek2020, we have @SalWilson111 explaining why she #choseOT
@AHPsNottsHC @theRCOT @NottsHealthcare
I #choseOT because occupation is important to me. It shapes who we are as individuals, the occupations that we chose to do whether it be self care, leisure or productive activities teach us how to adapt & cope in everyday life within our culture and society as a whole #OTweek2020
