Also, we are lobbying the Secretary of State for DEFRA to have the bathing designation status revised to include all river users, including angling.
Bathing/recreational status will help to both prioritise investment and mandatory weekly water testing for transparency. #CleanDee
The big question is:
Where is the extra money coming from to pay for the investment?
Increased bills? shareholders? government? fines using the proceeds of crime act?
This is largely a political question and I hope to see clear plans in party manifestos in the coming election.

A summary of our Welsh Dee Trust citizen science scheme in 2022.
At the end of the year we had:
-20 active volunteers.
-88 sites being monitored.
- 3 illegal point source pollution discharges discovered and reported.
2023 is stepping up to be an even bigger year.
