Academics have become corrupted by a peer-review system which exclusively rewards research highlighting dangers of climate change and significance of CO₂ reduction in mitigating vulnerability to adverse weather. They just toss around some statistics, ignore dynamics and do some curve-fitting to produce some wild results. It has become an intellectually lazy field, compounded by an incurious press that never pushes back. Instead, journalists rehash talking points from organizations like Climate Central or World Weather Attribution (WWA) “flash studies” that aren’t subject to scrutiny in academic literature.
