Hundreds of factories have shut down, millions of workers have lost their jobs, exports have nearly come to a halt, and no new development initiatives exist. Teachers in educational institutions are openly engaging in politics, dissenting teachers are being humiliated, students are being expelled, stock market money is being looted without accountability, while bribery, corruption, and partisan control run rampant in the administration. National assets and ports are being handed over to foreign powers, secret deals are being made, and notorious militants are being allowed to enter the country freely. The so-called “reforms” that the illegal Yunus government and its militant coordinators promised—used as propaganda to justify militant attacks—have not materialized in any form. Their real objective was to seize power, assassinate Sheikh Hasina, and eliminate Awami League supporters. Since August 2024, a nationwide campaign of persecution against Awami League members has been unfolding. By banning the Awami League and putting Sheikh Hasina on trial in a kangaroo court, Yunus aims to wipe out the party entirely. They know that the Awami League–led coalition commands more than 50% of the national vote. The Awami League alone has never received less than 40% of the vote. Without forcing such a massive voter base out of the electoral process, Yunus’s Jamaat–NCP alliance cannot capture power. That is why the illegal Yunus government is using false cases, violent attacks, arrests, and repression to achieve its political goal. The “Dhaka Lockdown” on 13 November showed clearly what the people want. The upcoming Complete Shutdown on 16–17 November will make it even clearer to Yunus and his circle.
