4 #WSTC4 #ConsBio1 From 0 to 50%. Last year because of late discovery during breeding season, predator control was too late engaged thus not giving any fledgling birds. This year, thanks to predator control during winter the colonies gave 16 eggs and 9 fledgling #MascarenePetrels

3 #WSTC4 #ConsBio1 Before 15th of November 2016 we only knew of 51 grounded birds of this species. Now we are following 33 burrows, have ringed 48 individuals and deployed 22 GLS to know about their distribution at sea

@XavierMeyer1989 @RoseateTernLIFE @BirdWatchIE @BirdsCount_ie @oconned5 @alittlebitSealy On Rockabill, we've occasionally had Black Guillemots nest in the Roseate Tern nestboxes, and Roseate Terns nest in Black Guillemot nestboxes! A bit of a squeeze for the Black Guillemots, and very luxurious and spacious for the Roseate Terns! :D #WSTC4 #ConsBio1

@XavierMeyer1989 @RoseateTernLIFE @BirdWatchIE @BirdsCount_ie @oconned5 @alittlebitSealy Even just within Roseates, there can be low (or no) occupancy or uptake or nestboxes elsewhere in their range! In the lit, most seabird species seem to react well, but always potential for different ecological traps (as seen in raptors, ducks, passerines etc) #WSTC4 #ConsBio1

3/4 #WSTC4 #ConsBio1 - How? Census data has been collected since 2015 however, there’s still much to cover! #Citizenscience will play a significant role during 2018 & 2019, with #volunteer surveyors & coordinators (AKA #CensusLegends) being integral to #SeabirdCount’s completion.
