Why do so many people live on LA’s streets? It’s a complex issue, but the fundamental math behind it is pretty simple:
42,000 people who are homeless
14,000 shelter beds
28,000 people on the street
Add in our shortage of permanent housing, and the math gets even more stark.
Our group's genesis is in outreach and #participatoryplanning efforts from 2014-2015 that culminated in Our Skid Row, a visioning process initially sponsored (and then abandoned) by @skidroworg.
