#CycloneCody, seen as the swirling cloud mass on the satellite imagery, has thankfully tracked further east but continues to bring big swells to the north & east coasts of North Island. A wind watch is still in effect around East Cape today. Details at https://t.co/qHyE5zzql5

Ex-Tropical #CycloneCody is approaching #NewZealand's north eastern corner - however it will bring dangerous rips, currents and waves to eastern beaches all the way from Northland to Wairarapa over the next 3 days (and even into the South Island).
Current situation:
Hazardous sea conditions are still expected about exposed eastern coastlines of the North Island, where large easterly swells, significant sea surges/rips and coastal inundation are possible until the end of Tuesday as #CycloneCody passes east of Aotearoa New Zealand (1/2)
Here is the latest track for #CycloneCody (blue shaded area shows track uncertainty)
The continuing eastwards shift means the North Island will see little impact from wind and rain (1/2)

Well it appears we survived a tsunami! Hanging out in #Fiji on a yacht just trying to avoid #CycloneCody then #TongaVolcano erupts. Mother Nature ain’t happy ⚓️
Let us not forget the Chatham Islands!
Rain will develop during the second half of Monday as #CycloneCody approaches. Rain, with possible heavy falls, and gale easterly winds can be expected during Tuesday.

A reminder, we still have the remnants of #CycloneCody passing by #NewZealand.
🚨🌊🌀Swells, waves, rips and currents all significantly increasing. Wave heights of several metres at East Cape tomorrow. This, on top of the #tsunami from #Tonga also impacting some of NZs beaches.
