It was a pleasure to moderate #DLPForum’s second Roundtable. This roundtable, held in Karachi, explored Maritime Security & #IHL. Grateful to @ICRC_Pakistan for gathering us all together and to the experts who made this a success.
We hosted the #DLP Roundtable on Maritime Security & IHL jointly with @CentreLJP.
Together, we explored the role of #IHL & #UNCLOS in maritime warfare, focusing on protection of civilians & infrastructures, & technology's impact on security during armed conflicts at sea.
It is now accepted that IHRL applies in tandem with IHL to protect those in occupied territories.
