I would argue that in the critically ill, the #devicetrial focuses on marginal gains. Intubation "usually" the easy bit; more important is avoiding CV collapse with induction. That's the low hanging fruit

The 71% 1st pass success in the DL group is alarming regardless of actual outcomes.
Bridging the DL skill gap should occur in controlled settings; or we might have to acknowledge that not everyone needs DL skills.

Great to see the #DEVICEtrial presented. 70% FPS with DL in the control group seems very low compared the prehospital/ICU environments I work in. If you're inexperienced with DL empiric VL probably will help FPS. For more experienced operators the signal is much less clear #CCR23
