Great #VO tip from @sarajanesherman (also gr8 4 #dialectstudy ). In thread she mentions retaining by writing these down. I agree, reinforce that & have taken it further: I created a #character notation worksheet (to which I’ll be adding recent @AndreaToyias ideas 🙂) #actingcraft
#VO tip: A key phrase is a short sentence that helps you dial in your character voice or accent. Think “‘Ello Guv’na” for Cockney or “Gag me with a Spoon” for Valley. These are great to have when doing multiple voices, have some nerves or it’s been a bit since you’ve done a role.

Perhaps one of the more frustrating aspects of #dialectstudy is the occasional slip from 1 dialect to another - particularly when their rules are so close. Can you keep ur #newyork , #bostonian & #chicagoan separate?
