Bakhtin's concept of dialogism suggests that every utterance is in a continuous dialogue with other utterances, whether they're from the past, present, or anticipated in the future. When viewed through the lens of corpus linguistics, this idea takes on a tangible form. We can observe how #language #patterns evolve in tandem with societal shifts, cultural transformations, and technological progressions. A Bakhtinian approach to corpus linguistics might delve deep into tracing these #dialogic interactions, exploring how specific phrases or linguistic structures have morphed over time, and how they've both influenced and been influenced by the broader linguistic milieu.
