#Reality
Despite the abandonment, this #dugwell continues to illuminate the society about the basis of life and its fundamentals. But why do we espouse to evade than to engage?

'Custodians' of #drinkingwater would love to see obliteration of #dugwell. Duly replaced by the 'evolved' systems, which is being propagated religiously for 'safe' drinking #water. Discrediting dugwell which has survived since centuries seems to be an accepted way forward.
Save Water ....
When the #dugwell talks, जेव्हा विहीर बोलते: Many farmers told me that an occurence of लाल गेरू (red layer/bole) in a well is indicator of #groundwater availability/flows. What is this red layer? #CitizenScience #Hydrogeology
Narratives have proven that #dugwell managed by local communities is the most 'reliable' decentralized manner of accessing safe water in areas where #groundwater is contaminated with #arsenic & #iron. Therefore it MUST be revived & conserved as a marvel & used effectively.
Between 2009-2011, @MeghPyneAbhiyan has assisted villagers in the districts of Supaul, Saharsa, Khagaria, Madhubani and West Champaran to revive a total of 64 dugwells and repair another 41 wells.

While exploring #Dhanbad...
I got to know about a #dugwell made functional in 1915 & was located in the heart of the city. Met few individuals, who during their childhood had played with the dugwell's water, & rest is history...
