Gr 5 Fine Arts: Ms. O's class finished detailing their shaker eggs today. We practiced a quick version of "Jingle Bells" using only homemade percussion instruments! #Edgemontstrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr3 Art: Here are some shots from Ms. R's & Ms. S's & Ms. D's classes. Students have "busy fingers" as they make precise colour choices for each strand of yarn they add to their weaving. #EdgemontStrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr5 Art: Students created an image of Atlantic Canada, with a special eye on composition, & will paint this image in the style of Can. folk artist, Maud Lewis. We have begun to transfer the line drawing to the painting surface using transfer paper! #EdgemontStrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr4 Art: Learning about the AB regions, we began "What's the Story Behind that AB Name Place" project. Students will learn a story on how a place in AB was named. They will create puppets to perform a short skit to tell this story. Check out their regional maps! #edgemontstrong
Gr3 Art: Students in Ms. S's class began weaving! Using the "Colours of Edgemont" as inspiration, students made thoughtful choices to weave into their piece. This project focuses on fine motor skills, careful observation, patterning and creativity. #Edgemontstrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr3 Art: "The Colours of Edgemont" Ms.R's & Ms. D's class began their weaving projects today! Students used their colour study work, and a chosen photograph from the natural spaces of Edgemont, to choose each colour of yarn for their weaving. #EdgemontStrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr4 Art: Ms. P's class used these personal STOP signs as props in their body break/dance routine to "Live in the Moment" by Caleb Hart. Now we have them up in the hallway. What is something you wish you had more time to STOP and enjoy??? 😊#Edgemontstrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr1 Art: Ms.D's class did a very precise job of cutting out their water colour geese today & each one joined the flying 'flock'(which was last seen eating in a farmer's field) Each student helped to paint the morning sky. Wonderful artwork from Gr1! #EdgemontStrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr1 Fine Art: Some Canada 'Geese' from Ms. M's class were spotted flying south for the winter. (Students used pencil and watercolour pencil in a step=by-step draw and colour activity) #EdgemontStrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr3 Fine Arts: Students are working on their water colour pencil illustrations. These images will be displayed with their inspirational lyric (song: Yes I Will, by M. Franti) on the Gr3 bulletin boards upstairs next week😃 #Edgemontstrong @EdgemontCBE
Gr5 Art- Using gold, silver, black & the colour of their paper, students began creating their illustrations. Each student used a stanza from "Don't Lose Your Steam"(G.Porter) as inspiration for this drawing. Check back for finished work next week! #Edgemontstrong

Gr4 Fine Art- Using a "idea sheet" from last week, students began illustrating a stanza from "Live in the Moment," by Caleb Hart. Students lightly sketched the image in pencil, then added oil pastels. Stay tuned to see the finished work next week! #Edgemontstrong
