Affirmative action may be over as we knew it but one discriminatory practice that every college & university can end today despite the SCOTUS ruling, standardized admissions and placement tests. These tests have nothing to do with merit or preparation. #EndtheSAT
Affirmative action is over. Here is the link to the US Supreme Court decision today striking down the race-based admissions programs at Harvard and UNC as a violation of constitutional equal protection laws: https://t.co/iJfSVeg1sg
It’s sickening that it took a global pandemic for colleges and universities to realize basing admissions decisions off of a single standardized test may not be the best idea. #endtheSAT
“In 2019, the pace is 1 announcement every 10 days, more than 2X the pace at comparable points in past YRS, said Robert Schaeffer, director of FairTest: Nat. Center for Fair & Open Testing.” #endtheSAT #endtheACT #highered #admissions #equity #justice https://t.co/ufFUPtkyLH
ACT and SAT need to go. The @CollegeBoard should be held accountable for this latest debacle. #ENDtheACT #ENDtheSAT
To my colleagues who associate with @CollegeBoard & @ACT - take this recent gaming scandal as an oppty to end the use of SAT/ACT in admissions. Perhaps the tests were well intended but they are perpetuating a wealth advantage & undervaluing low-income students. #DroptheSAT
Another one for the #ENDtheSAT #ENDtheACT movement. Discriminates against lower-income & working class students, disproportionately negatively impact students of color, and rich/wealthy pay their way to better grades. It doesn’t have to be this way. We know how to do better!

.@RCOE MathLeaders had important discussion about CA AB751 PathwaytoCollege. Legislation perpetuates CultureOfExclusion afflicting EduSystem. Before U drink the Kool-Aid ask: Why R #Math Leaders&ProfOrgs arguing that this is not equitable PracticeOrPolicy? #mathequity #TMfSJ

Admissions tests like the SAT not only invite cheating but they also enrich a test prep industry, do nothing to predict college readiness, say more about a students wealth & reinforces income inequality. #EndTheSAT https://t.co/ASlHTw9anf
