I just found out that being bilingual is not one of the reason why a child is delayed in their speech. 🤯 All these years my family thinks the reason behind a language delay is because of having 2 spoken language— it’s a MYTH fam! #eng211fall22

The article about Syntax was a flashback to every single English class I've taken. It was a reminder how complex the structure of language can be. #eng211fall22
I viewed myth 8 in a more literal pov, I could see how people can use technology as a way of declining in
"proper" writing and speaking. Ipads used as notebooks, autocorrect used on every "paper." Whereas the error occurs more often on pen and paper. #eng211fall22
What’s crazy to me is that 1/3 of people getting married in the 1850s could not write their own name. That was interesting to read in myth 8. #eng211fall22
Towards the end of Myth 7 I liked how it discussed oversimplification of one part of a language leads to the complication of comparing other parts of a language. Learning is all subjective to the person learning a new language. #eng211fall22

@angelapaulinee I totally disagree with the myth! But the ideology of others to women—especially with gender roles, they do think we women are just too emotional when it comes to public settings. Which I find that annoying! #eng211fall22

Myth 6 went about as I expected. It's a misogynistic myth that women speak more than men and has been repeatedly disproven. I was unsurprised but found it interesting how it came down to power and how much power there is behind being the one who's speaking. #eng211fall22
