Yes Gita, Ramayan can be seen on TV, but who can sits down and watch? Who sits down to teach us? Muslims are taught their religion and rituals from birth. They know everything.. Our parents are so westernised and emphasise western culture on us. Send us to medium English, Catholic and convent schools! So our parents are not teaching us. Our parents are pushing western culture on us. They look towards America and say you should do that too! The fault started with the older generation and now it has reached us, but we will rectify it and learn from this. It is up to us now to make sure we teach our children Dharma

In one of two generations both Telugu and kannada will be lost to english not hindi As a kannadiga with Telugu ancestry and a bengalurean I am more worried about Kannada and Telugu losing out to English than imaginary Hinthi imposition At least in my circle it has became a rarity to see any parent even pretending to talk in Kannada and Telugu to children Everyone is proud to flaunt how americanised their children’s english accent is You just listen to what parents talk to children in any mall, you will only hear english And in Andhra the govt is virtually wiped out telugu by making english as the only medium of instruction and govt is taking children who can talk in english and making videos of these children talking to CM to show how progressive Andhra is. English language gives you an edge in career but not at the cost of losing your mother tongue. Career is just part of life but culture is life
