These 'amicus curae' filings are statements from individuals and/or groups that are presenting as "friends of the cure (remedy)". You would be filing a statement saying, that "yes, i am affected also." These are NOT claims within the lawsuit, and do NOT entitle you to any award should we win (very unlikely by the way). These filings serve two purposes, 1) they add 'popular weight' to the suit by basically saying "all us guys think this is a legit effort"; AND, should we win, these establish a time-stamp for your notice to the court that you too are affected. Therefore you get a 'leg up' time-wise if you also file. Bear in mind, that there likely would be thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of similar suits also being filed. And i will thank every one for their 'friends of the cure' filings.
