The last time I preached at his church was about four years ago. Unbeknownst to me, I was to be among the last to do so at that previously rented property as only a few months after that, Dr. Owusu would lead his congregation in an ambitious 18-month, groundbreaking building project valued at $30 million Canadian Dollars. This daring 45,000 square foot edifice situated in Surrey, the fastest growing municipality of Greater Vancouver, stands as a testament to his visionary, entrepreneurial leadership.
Sam is as prayerful and as practical as they come. Such a simple man that embodies the servant leadership of Jesus Christ, he spent six hours with me today as if he were a post-exam candidate with nothing to do except to ‘kill time.’
Yet this is a prominent national and international authority on community, culture and change and a regular conference speaker for the Billy Graham Association. Rev. Dr. Owusu is also an adjunct professor at Trinity Western University and Ambrose University.
Dr. Owusu has written several books including ‘Fresh Fire,’ ‘Spiritual Warfare,’ ‘When God's People Pray,’ ‘Future Decoded’ and ‘Dream Again.’ He is married to beautiful and prayerful Rosemond; together they have three children and four grandchildren.
