To do MBS right, there needs to be a national scope, diversifying geography & large scale. This keeps cost low. Further, profits are managed like water & electricity. This supports the operation, w/stable income for investors while costs low!

There is very low risk on the mortgage guarantee biz since house prices (generally) tick up & w/decent down payment, safe for all players!
