@EvapoHub Over 4 decades in the USA, teen smoking dropped a bit less than 50%. Over the past 10 years during the #EcigEra, US teen smoking dropped 90%.
So yes. The #GatewayMyth is just another BS prohibitionist invention. No amount of data from the real world can change those zealots.

In the USA, teen smoking has been falling 4X faster than historical trends for 10 years now. Young adult smoking too.

The real world does not seem to agree with claims that "vaping is a gateway to smoking."

@markhweiss This is an Emperor's New Clothes thing. They keep marveling at the finery of the #GatewayMyth. But the naked truth is as you say Mark: Any sensible being can see vaping is the most probable cause of the unusually fast decline in teen smoking over the past 8 years.
Between 2019 and March 2020 (before schools closed), there was a dramatic shift in teen substance use.
Throughout most that decade, teen drinking and smoking had been dropping. Teen smoking WAS falling 3X faster than historical trends... Then this happened.

Boys' 12th grade daily smoking rose 4.9%/yr from 1991 to 1998. Then fell by 8%/yr (1998-2006) and 1.6%/yr (2006-2012).
Then teen vaping increased... and 12th-grade smoking PLUMMETED 17%/year (2012-2019). Daily smoking is now so low it's difficult to measure.

@TBBusiness @MikeBloomberg spends $153m/year on a massive anti-vaping campaign. The #GatewayMyth is one of many myths they push. If you just look at official US govt survey data, it's clear the reverse is true. Teens should not vape, but vaping has clearly diverted them away from smoking.
