1. 「Googlebot」は単一のシステムではない
名前の由来： 「Googlebot」は2000年代初頭の「1つの製品（検索）に1つのクローラー」だった時代の名残であり、現在は実態に即した名前ではありません。
実態はAPI： 社内には巨大なクローリング基盤（通称「Jack」など）があり、各製品チームがAPIを通じて、用途に合わせたクローラーを動かしています。
2. 数百もの「未公開クローラー」が存在
公開されているのは氷山の一角： 公式ドキュメントに載っているのは主要なものだけで、実際には社内のさまざまなチームが運用する数百種類のクローラーが稼働しています。
なぜ非公開なのか： クローラーの種類が多すぎてすべてをドキュメント化するのが物理的に困難なためです。トラフィックが非常に少ない小規模なものは、あえて公開されていません。
監視体制： 稼働数が一定のしきい値を超えるとイリェーシュ氏に通知が届く仕組みになっており、ウェブ全体に影響を与える規模になった時点で初めて公開（ドキュメント化）を検討します。
3. 「クローラー」と「フェッチャー」の違い
Google内部では、これらを明確に使い分けています。
クローラー（Crawler）： バッチ処理で大量のURLを継続的に取得し続けるもの。
フェッチャー（Fetcher）： 特定のURLを個別に、かつ即座に取得するもの。通常はユーザー（管理者）の操作に連動して動きます。
4. サイト運営者への影響
ログファイルに未知のGoogle関連クローラーが見つかっても、必ずしも心配する必要はありません。それらは特定の小規模なGoogleサービスやテストのために動いている可能性があります。
基本的に、主要なGooglebotをブロックしていなければ、これらの未公開クローラーも同様のルールに従って動きます。

Google clarifies that Googlebot crawls only the first 2 MB of an HTML file for indexing.
If important parts of your page load beyond that, they may not be seen.
