The statement by Pakistan’s Foreign Office and the subsequent resolution presented in the National Assembly, in response to House Resolution 901 #HR901, contradict the facts.
Pakistan is under an #UndeclaredMartialLaw with the constitution and the rule of law suspended for autocratic rule, with the support and assistance of corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, and judges.
From banning public gathering, to muzzling the media, abductions, enforced disappearances, home invasions, violence against women, custodial torture, transnational repression, extortion for statements, coerced interviews, the worst election rigging, manipulation of election results, arbitrary arrests, trials of civilians in military courts, and victimization of Imran Khan, his wife, and anyone associated with him or his party, the list of well documented violations of fundamental rights and principles of democracy is too long to reproduce here.
This statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ignores the fact that the world is well aware of the breakdown of the rule of law in Pakistan and is an insult to the intelligence of the Pakistani people.

Overseas Pakistanis chose a democratic way to point out the wrongdoings in Pakistan because we feel obligated to raise our voice when our motherland 🇵🇰 is occupied by the #FascistRegime with a stolen mandate and our fellow Pakistanis are facing oppression and #HumanRightViolations
By the way, overseas Indians never faced #TransnationalRepression like overseas Pakistanis are facing.

Executive Director of @justfp @ErikSperling has pointed out that House Resolution 901 #HR901, which condemns the military regime’s human rights violations in Pakistan, is just the beginning. This is a wake-up call, and it may very well be followed by decisive actions, such as invoking the Magnitsky Act.
