In 2021 the Tri-Party Agreement agencies issued a final record of decision (ROD) for the 100-B/C Area. Significant work was already accomplished under the interim ROD, but the final allows for continued cleanup work including soil and groundwater cleanup. #HanfordCleanup
After 12 years of groundwater remediation in the 100 D/H Area near the Columbia River, Ecology is evaluating completion of groundwater remedy for the area. #HanfordCleanup

More than 60 square miles of groundwater at the Hanford Site is still contaminated. Remediation activities are in place and continue to be a part of the #HanfordCleanup mission.

The Tank-Side Cesium Removal (TSCR) system treats liquid tank waste by removing radioactive cesium & solids. Waste will be fed directly from a double-shell tank to the Low-Activity Waste (LAW) Facility for vitrification. #HanfordCleanup

In 2021 demolition work at the Plutonium Finishing Plant finished. PFP was one of the most contaminated facilities on the Site. It took liquid plutonium nitrate and processed it into small “buttons.” #HanfordCleanup

Hanford Site contractor @WRPSTOC is making progress installing new waste transfer lines between AW Farm and a nearby evaporator. Crews recently installed three new nozzles in one of the pump pits for Tank AW-102.
