#CommandHospital #Pune @IaSouthern successfully performed #haploidentical #BoneMarrowTransplant in a 4 year old female child, suffering from a rare inherited bone marrow failure syndrome (#IBMFS) & Congenital Amegakaryocytic Thrombocytopenia (#CAMT) with a related donor. The successful #BMT was the first in #AFMS for #CAMT, thereby opening new doors of hope for children suffering from rare #GeneticDisorder.

**Omisirge vs Hapolidentical as a graft source for #alloHSCT. Is one superior over the other as a means to improve match availability for patients in need?**
Estimates are that ~1,700 patients annually may not find a match for life saving/curative intent treatment of hematologic malignancy with #AlloHSCT ...but in recent years Haploidentical has closed that gap and offered hope/increased match rates for those who had previously no options, especially patients of diverse ethnic background.
Omisirge vs Haploidentical...no direct/head-to-head RCT's comparing outcomes. So looking at studies of each individually, can we potentially draw some initial conclusions? (X) = references below
