HS2 frees up capacity for e.g. more frequent direct services Oxf-Man. With more capacity we could have more accessible trains with more room for wheelchairs, bikes and luggage. More capacity means ticket prices could be lowered without risking overcrowding! /8

The M20 and M25 are absolutely gridlocked. Now whilst it’s delightful to fly past them in their metal boxes it reminds me of how many times people say road use has dropped since covid because more people WfH. Look around you & at the data! #TrainTravel #TravelByTrain #HighSpeed1

As far as I know this was the only Class 37 working over Section 1 of #HS1 (Dollands-Ebbsfleet). 37601 & 37603 Stand adjacent to Beechbrook Farm with the first Eurostar to be tested on the line, 2003 (ish) #TractorThursday #HighSpeed1 @C37LG @TheGrowlerGroup
