Instead of taking anyone’s word for it, I decided to do my own research on this multi crore scam. What I found points to deep-rooted corruption in @PMCPune #Vimannagar area.
I revisited the hawker occupied footpath and took this photograph(pic#1). It clearly shows that the footpath has effectively been converted into an official hawker zone; complete with a serial number.
But look closely. The location mentioned on the board does not match where it is installed. This strongly suggests that the board was lifted from a legitimate hawker zone and placed here to create the illusion of legality. The text has even been deliberately faded, making it difficult to read.
If you read carefully, it mentions:
“Phoenix Mall (from Shree Krishna Chowk to Bakers Company Bus Stop, leaving a 40-meter distance, attached/up to the Kolte Patil boundary marker)”
That description refers to the area near where Rameshwaram Cafe currently operates; not this footpath.
To be doubly sure; especially since the matter involves @navalMH; I checked the official PMC list of approved hawkers. Interestingly, not a single hawker is listed with Lane No. 1, Phoenix backside road as their place of business because no such hawker zone exists legally here.
This establishes a clear pattern:
First, the footpath is encroached.
Then, legitimacy is manufactured through local arrangements that don’t even exist on paper.
I wouldn’t be surprised if zoning is quietly altered overnight to cover tracks.
But using boards from legal zones to legitimise illegal encroachments; relocating hawkers from their approved areas; and misrepresenting public land suggests corruption that goes far beyond a few lakhs.
This has all the markers of a multi-crore scam.
