The Iraqi Minister of Labor & Social Affairs signed $4.2 million #I3RF-financed Grant Agreement for the #SocialSafetyNet Enhancement Project.

Today we concluded an excellent and engaging week of #WorldBank portfolio discussions with several Govt. of Iraq line ministers. We jointly identified implementation challenges around the #I3RF reform & recovery program and agreed on actions to smoothen program implementation.
Through the @WorldBankMENA #Iraq #I3RF support & in collab./w @UNICEF & @WFP, a high-level delegation from @IraqiGovt @molsa_iq SPC participated in a Learning Exchange visit to #Jordan & #Egypt, to learn about best practices of Cash Transfers Programs. 1/2
#I3RF works with partners to ensure the active participation of #women in the Iraqi economy. #InternationalWomensDay. This is esp. important given that #Iraq has one of the lowest female labour force participation rates in the world (10.6%). Unemployment is also high at 28.2% 1/2
