Let’s examine the fake narrative:
The hired Lobbyists pushing Somaliland’s recognitionthink outfits like @heritage in DC or backers of H.R. 3992—often boil it down to a tidy make-believe narrative: a “democratic oasis” in a chaotic Horn, worthy of sovereignty for its elections, Berbera port utility, and anti-terror posture. It’s pitched as a low-risk US win: reward self-determination, deter Iran/China, and stabilize the Red Sea. But reality is much different. This is dangerously reductive, ignoring the nature #Somali clan-structure nomadic realities that make recognition a potential powder keg rather than a panacea.
Advocates gloss over Somaliland as an “Isaaq ambition,” framing it as a multi-clan success story. Yet, Somali experts know, non-Isaaq groups (Harti in the east, Gadabursi in Awdal) reject secession as alien to their unionist roots, with #NorthEast’s control over 50-60% of claimed territory (Sool, Sanaag, Cayn) entrenching that divide. Recognition wouldn’t “lock in” borders; it’d ignite nomadic clashes over pastures and wells, where herders’ allegiances prioritize kin over state edicts. Ayaan’s untrue “effective control” claims crumble here—Somaliland’s shrunk to an Isaaq enclave, vulnerable to internal Isaaq sub-clan rifts.
@ayaan & @SenTedCruz tout rehearsed “elections” as Western-grade, but it’s a clan-hybrid: polls were only held in Isaaq areas (35-40%) , so called parties are proxy Isaaq sub-tribes, and the whole economy hinges on Berbera (90% revenue, UAE-tainted). That is not Democratic nor it’s viable.
Finally, let’s look into geopolitical myopia and the UAE’s toxic shadow. The talking point that Somaliland’s recognition would “deter Iranian/Chinese influence” is absurdly thin: there is no meaningful Tehran or Beijing footprint in Somalia (unlike Kenya, Ethiopia, or Djibouti), and the FGS already offers U.S. basing at Berbera and Bosaso. What lobbyists omit is #UAE’s deeply destabilizing role—using those ports as #RSF supply lines and cultivating militias in #Berbera and #Bosaso that mirror Sudan’s genocide enablers. Recognition would only entrench this, turning the region into a proxy hub while igniting new clan conflicts as unionist clans defend against secessionist expansionist. And even within Somaliland itself, any notion of hosting an Israeli base or resettling forcibly displaced Palestinians would face outright rejection, it’s politically and socially inconceivable across Somali society.

This is almost a form of (mental) neo-colonialism @Ayaan @SenTedCruz Somaliland has no defined territory, given it's leaders never controlled large parts of the eastern regions. This means also, it has no defined population. It did not build a nation (beyond Isaaq residing in central SL). Did SL recognize Israel? Many people residing in northwest Somalia quite passionately hate Israel and "Jews".

🟢 I don't believe that America doesn't consider the interests of the Israeli entity. On the contrary, its strategy is based on #Israel_First. However, in the era of President @realDonaldTrump, Netanyahu must lower his head and lower his voice when he wants to talk to Trump! Therefore, Netanyahu cannot impose conditions on Trump. This is first. Second, this creature whom Trump, who he once described as "crazy," summoned to the White House will convey to him what he should and should not do. Third, after this killing, destruction, and genocide he practiced against Gaza and its people, Netanyahu is no longer acceptable to the international community following the issuance of the arrest warrant by the International Court. 🟢 There is an important opportunity for America to correct its paths in the Middle East. I know that it does not want security and stability in the region, but America's vital interests require that it not continue with its #Israel_First strategy and that understanding with #Iran and reaching a win-win solution serves all parties. It seems that President @realDonaldTrump is able to correct the paths.
