This is barbaric and constitutes crimes against humanity committed by refugees in the #Gambella #Itang district. Beyond the women and children that @UNHCREthiopia and @RRSEthiopia showcase to gain sympathy and support, these are the refugees they are hiding from the world. The world MUST see this.
When we say “No More Refugees in Gambella,” it is not out of hatred for refugees, and it never has been. We say “No More Refugees in Gambella” because we are facing ethnic cleansing and are begging the world to see our grievances.

Those South Sudanese rebels are not just a threat to peace in #SouthSudan but also a major threat to peace in #Gambella, #Ethiopia. In the last two years, they massacred civilians in #Jor district in Gambella, Ethiopia. They also killed civilians in #Piino area under the #Itang district. They take advantage of the wide open borders between South Sudan and Ethiopia to smuggle weapons, kidnap children, steal cattle, and attack small villages at the border of Ethiopia. They are terrorist group with too much blood in their hands.
They use the #refugee camps in Gambella to get rations and foods. And also use the camps as fields for recruiting and mobilizing rebels. There would be no peace if they still exist at the areas that they are currently occupying. The governments of South Sudan and Ethiopia should secure their borders and eliminate any threats taking advantage of the borders.

05/12/2024- #South_Sudanese rebels and armed Nuer militia opened an attack on the #ENDF today at #Makot, in #Itang district! The other Ethiopian groups and highlanders living in #Mathar were also attacked. It is really saddening to see Ethiopians killings themselves, and also getting killed by outsiders. Where is this country heading to, and where is safe for our people?
05/10/2024-Today in the morning, armed Nuer group attacked #Puol and #Pinyman in #Itang district wounding two farmers. When the #ENDF arrived at the scene, they turned their weapons against the farmers who were defending their villages and killed one farmer.
Is it the goal of the #ENDF for the Anywaa farmers to leave their villages in #Itang district just like they did in #Jor district? Then what, what can the #ENDF gain if the farmers leave their villages and give them up to the #Riek Machar’s forces and the #White_Army?
The attack on the farmers by the ENDF will not displace them, but it will turn the population against the government if they don’t have a disciplined army!
@seyoum_teshome warned #Ethiopia about Riek Machar’s rebels in 2022, and we have seen everything he said! The South Sudanese rebels destroyed 4 kebeles in #Jor district, killed over 100 civilians, and displaced thousands of people. Children are not attending schools, and #Itang kebele is under frequent attacks. Thousands of livestock are in the hands of Riek Machar’s rebels, and they’re still keeping few children.

The #South_Sudanese rebels attacked #Po-ool woreda in #Itang district today. The attack was targeting the farmers and Federal forces in the area. We are expecting more attacks in the morning tomorrow. This is a war that will not only affect #Gambella, but the rest of the country soon!
After the federal government put more forces in #Itang woreda due to the constant attacks of Anywaa kebeles by the South Sudanese rebels, the invaders now shifted their attacks to #Jor woreda in Anywaa zone. Jor woreda is now under attack and 3 kebeles are burned down. The number of deaths and casualties are still unknown.
Three kebeles that are burned to the ground are:
1. Omiininga
2. Odwuuo
3. Aleero
Prayer is needed for the victims and children! This is a land invasion by the South Sudanese invaders who are planning to challenge the government of South Sudan. Again, it is NOT a “tribal conflict” nonsense the government refers to.

The resumption of the attacks on Anywaa villages:
Pinyman village in #Itang woreda was attacked today by the usual armed South Sudanese Nuer refugees and wounded 4 people. This is one of the only 4 Anywaa villages left out of 19 villages. The other 15 villages are already taken by the refugees or left behind!
A group of Nuer refugees attack Anyaali kebele in #Itang woreda today. One child was shot in the stomach, one woman in the wrist, and the other one in her hip. Again, these are happening while thousands of #ENDF and Federal Police are present in the area.
They disarmed the local militias and special forces for this purpose. The #GoE can’t defend the vulnerable, but they were so quick to disarm the militias. Why make people defenseless if you can’t guarantee them safety? This is a cruel and an inhumane thing to do to your own citizens.
#STOP using Nuer refugees to eradicate the #Anywaa indigenous population from their ancestral lands! We don’t want violent and killer refugees in our land! Relocate or repatriate them back to #South_Sudan.

The so-called “Nuer White Army” that played a big role in the recent deadly civil war that took place in South Sudan had a meeting on the current issues they have created in #Malakal and #Itang district in #Gambella. After the South Sudanese #Murle attacked one of the #Nuer villages, #Gatluak Boum had a meeting with some Nuer officials in #Gambella yesterday. Today, an organized Nuer criminals attacked two Anywaa villages in #Itang Woreda, and killed innocent civilians. The government of Gambella must take action against #Gatluak Buom and all the officials who met with him.
