Our latest documentary on the life of Jeff Torborg is now available on YouTube. Here is the Link: https://t.co/pzm9sbFLCM When Jeff passed away in January, his son Dale and I talked about making a short video for Jeff’s celebration of life. I had gotten to know the family through the release of Last Comiskey, about the White Sox final season at Comiskey Park in 1990 (for his efforts turning around a last place team to challenge an all-time great A's team, Jeff won Manager of the Year). The outpouring of stories from around baseball about Jeff’s approach to baseball and life – together with the incredible archival photos and videos that Dale uncovered – were so compelling that we decided to expand the project to a full-length documentary. This film is full of great baseball stories through family videos of Jeff as well as commentary from the likes of Ron Guidry, Nolan Ryan, Don Drysdale, Ozzie Guillen, Buddy Bell, Kevin Millar, Ryan Dempster, Claire Smith, Gary Thorne, Joe Moeller, Dave “Snake” Sabo and many more. For me, what makes Jeff’s story really stand out is how much we can all take away from seeing how he lived his life. How to be a tough leader with compassion. Being humble and lifting others, never taking the credit for himself. How to carry oneself with dignity in tough circumstances. How to be a great family man despite the challenges of a strenuous career on the road. We need more leaders like Jeff Torborg. I hope you all enjoy the baseball stories and are inspired as I am about how Jeff lived his life. -Matt Flesch (Director of JEFF TORBORG: A WONDERFUL BASEBALL LIFE)
