The Indiana Senate just passed SB 289. During debate, the Senate Democrats compared this bill to the historic three-fifths compromise from the Constitutional Convention.
Here is my response to that argument.
I’ll say it plainly: the Department of Education has no business dictating how we raise and educate our kids. It's time to eliminate the Department of Education altogether and return power where it belongs: to states, local communities, and parents.
Hoosiers don’t need DC telling us how to teach our children. We need common sense, local leadership, and schools that reflect our values — not federal mandates. Giving education back to the states is not just a good idea — it’s the only way forward for the future of our children and our freedom.
